NIYYAH — OUR INTENTION

Islamic knowledge should not be a luxury.

Authentic Islamic knowledge. Powered by technology. Free for everyone.

We believe that anyone who sincerely wants to learn about Islam should be able to access reliable Islamic knowledge without being required to pay for a subscription simply to ask questions, search hadith, or learn about the Sunnah.

That belief is one of the reasons Baseera was created.

Why we built this

Over the years, we saw the growing number of Islamic apps and AI-powered platforms available online. Some were beautifully designed and technologically impressive, but their most useful features were locked behind expensive subscriptions. Others claimed to provide high-quality Islamic content, yet we found that the underlying information, sources, or methodology did not always meet the standard we were looking for.

We asked ourselves:

Why should someone have to pay simply to learn about their religion?

And more importantly: if AI is going to be used to answer questions about Islam, how can we make sure those answers are grounded in trustworthy Islamic sources?

These questions became the foundation of our project. By the grace of Allah ﷻ, we decided to build an Islamic AI platform that would be free to use while placing authenticity and source reliability at the center of its design.

Free by the grace of Allah

Baseera is free. This is not an afterthought — it is part of our mission.

We did not want the ability to explore Islamic knowledge through modern technology to be restricted to people who can afford another monthly subscription. We saw platforms that were expensive despite questionable content, and we saw platforms with excellent aesthetics and technology that required users to pay for meaningful access.

We wanted to take a different path. By the grace of Allah ﷻ, we built our platform to make this knowledge accessible without charging for its core Islamic knowledge experience. Our intention is to make learning about the Qur'an and Sunnah easier and more accessible for everyone — and we pray that this effort can be a form of ongoing benefit, and that Allah ﷻ accepts it from us.

Three principles

FREE

Islamic knowledge accessible regardless of someone's financial situation.

SOURCE-CONTROLLED

Answers grounded in the trusted books within our knowledge base — not unrestricted internet information.

TECHNOLOGY-ENABLED

AI that makes searching, retrieving, and understanding Islamic knowledge easier.

Our hope

Our hope is that a student can search for a hadith without worrying about the cost. That someone new to Islam can explore the Sunnah without needing an expensive subscription. That a Muslim can ask a question and be directed toward the underlying source material. And that modern technology can be used to make beneficial Islamic knowledge more accessible — rather than making it more expensive.

A final word

We are two people with a background in technology who wanted to build something we ourselves would want to use.

We do not claim perfection. We do not claim that technology can replace scholars. And we do not claim that an AI system possesses religious authority. Our responsibility is to build the technology carefully, use trustworthy sources, be transparent about our methodology, and continuously improve.

The knowledge belongs to Allah ﷻ. The Qur'an and Sunnah are the foundation. AI is simply the tool we have built to help people access that knowledge. And the platform is free by the grace of Allah ﷻ.

May Allah ﷻ make this effort beneficial, protect it from error, guide us toward what is correct, and accept it from us.

Allah knows best.
